Wyoming Death Records

It has been said that something that has a beginning would always have an end, and this is most certainly true when one speaks of the life of a person. There is no life where there is no death, and thus, every person that would be born would also someday die. Just as birth is something that the state is interested in, and they manifest their interest in the birth by issuing the appropriate birth certificate, so is the state interested in death, and they manifest their interest in the same through the issuance of death records like Wyoming Death Records.

Of course, just because the state is interested in death does not mean that this is the only purpose of Wyoming Death Notices. No, these notices also find some use in some official proceedings where there is the need to prove the death of the person named in the record, and one would be surprised at just how many proceedings there are where copies of death records are required to be presented before the proceedings could even begin. One of these proceedings would obviously, be the opening of the estate of the deceased, and in such proceedings, the creditors of the deceased could ventilate their claims, if they have any, against the deceased.

This is one of the main reasons why people would request for copies of Wyoming Death Certificates, because they could be used in such proceedings and they are required in order to be able for those who still have claims against the deceased to be able to properly ventilate their claims against the deceased. As the deceased is already dead, they could only go after the estate of the deceased and not anymore the deceased himself. Copies of death certificates are available at both the state and county level. Note that death records are not public records and as such, they could only be requested by those that are included in an exclusive list of people provided for by the law.

To obtain copies of Public Death Records at the state level, the person who desires the record should first obtain the necessary request form from the website of the Wyoming Department of Health and accomplish the same. Once the form is accomplished, the next step would be to send the form to the department for processing, and when the same is sent, it must be accompanied by a money order or personal check to answer for the required fee which is five dollars per copy. The usual processing time is anywhere between six to eight weeks, though note that if the record being requested for is more than fifty years old, the form should instead be sent to the Wyoming State Archives.

Of course, it is also possible to search for copies of death records online through the use of online databases. These internet-based archives are mostly privately owned, but they do present substantially the same information as the various government archives, and given that they are internet based, they could present their information faster and more efficiently.

The procedure to request for copies of death records is given below
